Why does the Illustrator or Photoshop button open a different app?

When Barcode Producer sends a barcode image to Illustrator or another app using the direct access button on the toolbar, it saves a temporary file and then opens that file in the requested application. If your system has been set to automatically open EPS files in a different application (like Photoshop or something else), this can cause the temporary file to open in the wrong application.

To fix the association on a Mac:

  1. Save an EPS file from Barcode Producer to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on the EPS file you created and select "Get Info".
  3. In the Info window, what is listed under "Open With"? If Preview is listed, this means all EPS files have been set to open in Preview on your system. Select Illustrator under the "Open With" option and then click the "Change All" button. This will set any EPS file to open with Illustrator.

Barcode Producer for Mac/PC creates perfect barcodes for retail packages, labels, books, packages, and everything else.
