Creating barcodes for QuarkXPress

Barcode Producer generates perfect barcodes. Download a free demo.

Let's start by saying that QuarkXPress doesn't handle vector EPS files very well, including those that come from Barcode Producer. Instead of placing EPS files into Quark, we instead simply recommend using bitmap TIFF files.

If you still want to use vector EPS files...

When you place an EPS file in Quark, it will appear in very low resolution. Quark cannot correctly parse an EPS file so all it can load is a small preview. If the EPS file is properly embedded into the Quark document, it should print just fine because Quark simply passes the EPS data along to your PostScript printer. However, if you don't have a PostScript printer, this might not work out very well. It might be easiest for you to save your illustration as a PDF file, then use Acrobat to print it.

If you have trouble printing out your document with an embedded vector EPS file, our best suggestion is to use a TIFF file instead. Quark simply doesn't handle vector EPS files very well.
