How to find a symbology#
Three ways into the Guide:
- By category – the sidebar lists Retail, Books & Periodicals, Selling Online, Inventory, Shipping & Logistics, QR Codes, 2D / Modern, Coupons & DataBar, and Specialty. Browse to the area you’re labeling.
- By search – type the name (UPC, EAN, ISBN) or an alias (UCC-12, JAN-13, Bookland EAN) into the search field. The same barcode often goes by half a dozen names; the search covers every alias.
- By Favorites – pin the symbologies you reach for often to the top of the sidebar.
What happens when you click#
The editor opens with the symbology’s defaults already loaded – the right input field shape, the right Factor range, the right human-readable text rules, the right output expectations. Start typing your value and the live preview is correct from the first character.
The Guide is also online#
The same encyclopedia is published at /symbology-guide. Useful for reading up on the available symbologies before launching the app, or for linking colleagues to the canonical reference without asking them to install anything.
